Book a Table

Originally an Edwardian house converted over the ground and basement floors to create a small but cosy restaurant. Designed by I Yu, the idea was to have basic natural materials of concrete and wood that emulate a traditional Japanese Izakaya restaurant. We wanted the food to be the main attraction of the restaurant hence the lack of artwork or ornamentation.

The concept

The food was originally based on the traditional Japanese
Izakaya style of cuisine however, since opening 10 years ago

Dinings has created a new style of Izakaya; Japanese tapas which combines traditional Japanese with modern European cuisine.

The Food
The Food

The idea behind the food at Dinings has always been one of quality and innovation. We use the best ingredients that we can source on a seasonal basis, using a variety of suppliers to help us create dishes that push the boundaries of flavour combinations, textures and styles.

The essence of what we do remains firmly Japanese but we integrate a twist of European cuisine into the dishes we create. We use different cooking and preparation techniques with some ingredients to achieve textures, smoky flavours and gentle essences before combining them into a dish that has impact, variety and appeal for our guests.
